The January guild meeting was all about improv. Shevvy gave a talk about her use of improv techniques; she brought along a stunning set of quilts that illustrated her practice. A number of these quilts can be seen in this month’s mosaic. She has challenged the group to ditch the constraints of the prescribed block and start experimenting  with improv; some examples of experimental blocks can also be seen popping up in the mosaic.

The weather has taken a turn for the worse here in London, snow flakes have been seen, so it’s no surprise that not one but two hot water bottle covers have made an appearance in the flickr group.

Let’s hope next month’s mosaic brings more improv than hot water bottles!
